Fun With Kids at The Chatswood Family Festival

We had an awesome day today at the Willoughby City Council’s Drop In Art and Craft Space!

Walangari Karntawarra joined by kids and families on the opening day of the Chatswood Family Festival.

The event drew in lots of families (and kids) from all over the neighbourhood for an afternoon of fun arts and crafts activities.

Kicking things off was aboriginal artist, elder, teacher and performer, Walangari Karntawarra, who talked to the kids about Aboriginal art and culture. He  started off the event’s gigantic collaborative mural, and all the children in attendance soon joining in the festivities.

For the rest of the afternoon, the kids stuck around for a whole bunch of arts and crafts, with our team at Les Petits Painters facilitating and supervising.

Have a look at some of the awesome art pieces our little painters came up with that afternoon:

Check out our special section on The Chatswood Family Festival.  We have a recap of our arts and crafts activities and workshops for the entire event.
